Rafa Jazz, from São Paulo, is a music researcher, DJ, and beatmaker, who dedicates her life to vinyl records and beats production. She is a partner in the record store and record label Casa Brasilis and producer of the Beat Brasilis project. As a DJ she participates in the feminine collective Cremosa Vinil that besides parties also produces the program “A Hora do Creme” that is aired monthly on Dublab Radio. His sets are filled with funk/soul, disco, house, and Brazilian music. He has already participated in several events such as Adidas Copa Skate 2018/2019, Circuito Sesc de Artes 2019, Projeto Jardim Sonoro – Sesc 24 de Maio, Virada Cultural 2018/2019, Mês da Cultura Independente 2018/2019, warm up at Mayer Hawthorne, Kamall William and James Blood Ulmer concerts.
In 2018 he was resident DJ and signed the production of the beats of the Sófálá MC’s project, a series of knowledge battles held by Red Bull Studio, the album was the result of 1 week immersion in the studio with the winning MC’s. Still in the world of beats, he has the beattape No Quantize released on the Beat Brasilis Rec label where he explores the lo-fi universe with samples taken directly from vinyl records. His most recent release is the lo-fi house track SP/Tokyo that came out on the Endorphins label’s HeadNod vol 2 mixtape. He also teaches beats production workshops with a focus on the female and LGTBQIA+ audience.
I am a DJ, Beatmaker and Art Educator. Passionate about sharing knowledge, vinyl records and analog samplers. Besides, I can turn any idea into a record, I have even made a chocolate one that plays.
